Nearly a year after finalising her divorce from actor-director Ben Affleck, Jennifer Lopez is said to be single and in no hurry to start dating again.
A source told People magazine that the 56-year-old actor-singer was currently focused on her professional commitments and her children, choosing to keep her life uncomplicated. “It’s all about work and the kids for her. She seems happy and content,” the source said, adding that Lopez appeared at peace.
Lopez shares 17-year-old twins, Max and Emme, with her former husband, Marc Anthony, and, according to the source, family remains a central priority for the star as she balances motherhood with an active career.
As reported by People, Lopez finalised her divorce from Affleck earlier this year. She had filed for divorce in August 2024, almost two years after the couple’s second wedding. The pair had married in a private ceremony in Las Vegas in July 2022, followed by a larger celebration in Georgia attended by close friends and family.
Their relationship had drawn significant public attention, given their history. Lopez and Affleck were first engaged in the early 2000s before calling off their wedding and parting ways. Nearly two decades later, they rekindled their romance in 2021, eventually tying the knot.
Soon after the separation, Lopez spoke candidly in an interview with a leading magazine about embracing life on her own terms. She said she was looking forward to being single and spending time alone, making it clear she was not interested in pursuing a new relationship.
“Now I’m excited,” Lopez said at the time. “When you say you’re just going to be on your own… yes, I’m not looking for anybody. After everything I’ve been through over the past 25, 30 years, being in these different challenging situations, what can I do when it’s just me flying on my own? What if I’m just free?”
