Jennifer Lopez shops her own closet for near-naked Golden Globes gown

Jennifer Lopez isn't afraid to shop her own closet.

The "Hustlers" actress, 56, took to the Golden Globes red carpet Sunday in a near-naked dress at odds with the more conservative theme of the night. Lopez, who presented at the Jan. 11 awards show, sported an archival Jean Louis Scherrer haute couture look, which came from her own collection.

"I got it from Lily et Cie," the singer told Entertainment Tonight on the red carpet. "It's my own."

"It's a vintage gown," she told the outlet, "from early 2000s."

Lily et Cie took to Instagram during the ceremony to celebrate one of their styles being worn by the multi-hyphenate.

"A legend at the pinnacle of her power swathed in a French couture fantasy of baroque embroidery that becomes a second skin," the vintage boutique wrote. "Crafted from hundreds of yards of silk tulle, exquisitely appliquéd with lace and hand-ornamented with stones. This is a level of workmanship possible only from a venerable grand couture house."

Lopez's look, which was paired with an updo by celebrity hair stylist Chris Appleton and glittering Sabyasachi jewelry, stood in contrast to the more understated tone of others on the carpet. Aside from a few pops of color (Wunmi Mosaku was a standout), another naked dress (Jennifer Lawrence in Givenchy) and Teyana Taylor's diamond thong, stars mostly opted for Old Hollywood-inspired classic looks.

Among the first major awards shows of the season, the Golden Globes did not produce many daring fashion moments – perhaps providing a harbinger of what's to come. Stars like Amanda Seyfried and Selena Gomez sported classic silhouettes and '50s-inspired updos. The color schema was dominated by blacks, whites and classic reds, and less skin seemed to be unquestionably in.
