Jennifer Lopez talks Ben Affleck split at Las Vegas Residency opening

Jennifer Lopez opened up honestly about her past relationship with Ben Affleck as she launched her Las Vegas residency.

On Tuesday, Dec. 30, the global pop superstar officially kicked off her Up All Night residency at The Colosseum inside Caesars Palace, marking a highly anticipated return to Las Vegas nearly ten years after her previous residency at Planet Hollywood’s Zappos Theater.

Throughout the opening night, Lopez mixed glamour with vulnerability, playfully reflecting on her personal life and bringing a blend of humor and honesty to the stage.

“It’s such a huge honor to be asked back,” she told the crowd. “Can you believe it’s been 10 years — almost to the exact day — since my last residency here?”

The singer then delivered a tongue-in-cheek remark that sent the audience into laughter. “And in that time, I’ve only been married twice,” she joked, before quickly adding with a smile, “I’m just kidding. I’m just kidding. It’s over and we just… it’s fine.” She punctuated the moment by kicking the air as the drummer crashed a cymbal, playing up the comedy.

Despite the lighthearted humor, Lopez made it clear she’s in a positive place. “It’s all good,” she said. “The good news is that I’m learning, I’m growing, and we’re in our happy era. I’m in my happy era.”

Lopez and Ben Affleck first began dating in the early 2000s, from 2002 to 2004, before reuniting nearly two decades later in 2021. The couple married in July 2022, but their second chapter came to an end when Lopez filed for divorce in August 2024.
